Editing Toolbox: How to Add Copyright Metadata to Your Images in Lightroom
May 05, 2023By Charlotte Reeves
If you're sharing your images online, there's no surefire way to protect your images. Adding a watermark helps, but I also recommend adding some metadata to the file, containing your name, business name and contact details. It's not totally foolproof, but if someone who wants to do the right thing comes across your image, this helps them find you and credit or license the image correctly.
It's like sending your image out into the world, with a return address on the back! đź“®
In this video, I'll give you a brief overview of how metadata works and how you can set up a custom metadata template in Lightroom. The template can be applied to images already in your library, and also automatically applied to any new images, on import. Handy!
