Get Down Top 10
Jun 01, 2021The latest challenge in the Unleashed Challenges Embark Round was called Get Down.
Once again we had a really tough job picking our favourite 10 images from all the submissions, well done to all our challengers.
But here, in no particular order are our top 10 Get Down images for May 2021. Congratulations to our winners!
We were really impressed at how low you got and the creative ways you did that too!

Keri Nakahashi | Keri Nakahashi Photography
This is a really immersive shot that almost feels like the photographer was standing in a hole this dog has dug in the sand!
Beatrix Szécsényi | Kutyafotózás Szabadtéren
This is an excellent example of how a shallow depth of field created by getting down as low as possible can really draw your eye to your subject. And when you get to the subject, you are rewarded with this beautiful expression and emotion.
Blue Amrich | Beyond The Fence
The wonderful angles of the trees really exaggerate the low angle this was taken at and the dog is perfectly posed and placed within the composition.
Andrea Ou | Paws & Play Studio
This is a really engaging image with the dog coming directly towards us. The lines in the cracked dry mud lead us into the frame towards the dog.
Karen Black | Indigo Pet Photography
This is a dog with attitude. Perfect expression and location and getting down low has emphasised the pompom paw placed on the skateboard.
Emily Morgan | The Digital Birdcage
You have to get pretty low to photograph small dogs, and it doesn't get much lower than this! Perfect for the challenge brief. The soft background really draws your eye right to the dog.
Jeff Rooney | Hightail It Photography
Great low angle and use of yellow flowers to tie in with the dogs' bandana. The background trees feel like lines leading you towards the dog.
Nicole Moyer | Sweet Ellie Photography
Great low angle, lovely expression and the dog sitting in the arch of this bit of wood is a nice touch.
Nicole Hrustyk | Pawtraits By Nicole
This shot has a really wonderful emotion and connection, despite the fact the dogs' eyes are closed. It shows great confidence and trust in the owner/photographer. And they've got so low that they're in the water! The commitment to getting the shot has paid off!
Sarah Jones | Mucky Pup Photography
Great low angel, the centred composition works well and there's good eye contact with the dog.
