Embark Get Down Top 10
Dec 07, 2021The Get Down challenge is all about shooting from low, VERY low, to show the world from a dogs perspective.
We had some absolutely incredible images for this Embark challenge, and we just know some of the challengers we so committed to getting down low, they went home covered in sand and mud!
Here are our top 10 Get Down images in no particular order. Huge congratulations to you all!

Absolutely adorable, really low angle, which is evident from the foreground leaves being out of focus. Lovely colour harmony too.
Erica Schomaker | Ash and Alder Photography
This is a beautiful shot with gorgeous tonality and even though the dog is up on the bench, the low perspective is obvious from the foreground foliage.
Francesca Guagliumi
This is such a simple image, but it's very effective. The angle is super low meeting the brief perfectly.
Hope Kuo
This is such a great example of getting low, the thin slice of the plane of focus with a quick fall off of focus in front and behind the subject. Gorgeous use of texture and colour to harmonise the environment with the fur of the dog.
Katy Robertson
We love the composition in this shoe, ultra-low angle and the dog framed nicely between the trees and good use of negative space on the left of the image.
Lindsay Baca
This is a great low angle and we absolutely love the sense of the location this shot gives us with all the different foliage and the track visible behind the dog.
Nancy Paynter
We love the use of a wide-angle here to really exaggerate the low perspective. The dog is perfectly placed in the frame and has a great expression.
Pauliina Saarinen | Pauliina Saarinen Photography
A really great action shot, the fur compliments the blue background really well, and we don't think you could get the camera any lower to the ground than it is here!
Stephanie Dalman | Boxers & Beer Photography
Beautiful colour harmony and the dog is the clear focus of the image in a location that would have been easy for the dog to get lost in. The low angle leads us in the frame with the lines a the bottom.
Teresa Rooney
Simple, super low, beautiful use of the location and the light on the mountains behind. The black are glosse and black without losing any detail.
