Editing Toolbox: Extending the Image Canvas to Improve Composition

Sometimes when you’re in the moment, dealing with a dog on location, camera in one hand, treats and squeakers in another, juggling all the things going on you might grab a shot and find the composition isn’t ideal, or the dogs feet are really close to the edge of the frame. It's perfectly understandable, we all do it, and it can be fixed with a bit of editing!
In this quick Photoshop tutorial, I'm sharing a couple of techniques for extending the image to add more space in to the composition and improve image flow.
