We've reached the penultimate challenge of Embark 2024 and this one is called Splash!

There's just something about playing in the water that screams fun and our best furry buddies seem to agree.

Whether it be swimming, leaping, splashing, playing fetch or jumping waves, water offers great opportunities for exciting and dynamic action shots of doggy water babies.

So for this challenge, we sent our challengers out to capture dogs interacting with water.

These, in no particular order, are the top 10 images of the challenge.

A fantastic splash silhouette with an energy that is ramped up by the warm colours.

This dog wins the wettest dog prize, it is absolutely drenched, look at the paws encapsulated by water! The high key styling and the excessive negative space marry really well together for a splash that is ethereal and exciting!

Beautiful light, colour palette and a lovely leading line that take you to the dog. The water droplets coming off the tail are fabulous and stand out well against the darker background.

Beautifully captured, a sharp laser focussed moment with the eye on the prize. The water droplets all being rendering into gorgeous bokeh and the soft tones work magically together.

The perspective looking along the breaker in this image gives it a wonderful perspective. The line of the landscape and the line of the wave lead you right to the subject and all the water splashing over their back really emphasises the sense of movement and fluidity.

The colours are so rich and alive in this image. This really allows the viewer to soak up (groan!) the moment and really enjoy the splash!

The kicking up of the mud, the back paws dragging in the water, the ear flick and the little splash the mirrors it underneath the chin. There is so much to explore and enjoy in this image!

What a fantastic interaction, the light coming from the side adds a sense of drama and the play of light and shadow in this yard environment really add a clear narrative.

This is not as in your face as many of the other Splash challenge images. The interaction with the water is quiet, softer. But the attention to detail in crafting this is no less impressive. The precise framing of the leg coming up on the left and around the body at the top is just fantastic and the colour palette is muted and luscious!

A fantastic splash moment anchored in the focussed gaze of the dog and the yellow bokeh highlighting the hint of the yellow toy in the water.
