Nov 23, 2021This weekend saw the first challenge of Embark come to an end and we were absolutely amazed at all the gorgeous bold and bright submissions for Colouriffic.
Challengers were tasked with finding bright and bold colours, whether in nature or manmade.
Boy did we get what we asked for! So much colour! π
It's impossible to look at these shots and not instantly feel a lift in your mood!
Ladies and gentlemen, drumroll please... π₯
Here are our top 10 Colouriffic images in no particular order. Huge congratulations to you all!

This is another Colouriffic example of harmony that perfectly met the challenge brief. The warm orange tones work perfectly with the warm tones of the dog's fur.
Nancy Paynter
The square crop and the square frame with this dog, paws up in the centre, is perfectly symmetrical. The bright mauve walls are totally Colouriffic and allow the dog to be the sole focus.
Megan O'Hehir
We asked for bright colours and colour harmony and this image has that in perfect balance. The golden fur and the yellow background is only improved by the subtle gradient that brings your eyes up to the dogs beautiful expression.
Linda Matetich
This is such a clean edit, there is nothing in this shot that doesn't need to be there so you have nothing to look at but this gorgeous corgi sitting in from of the blue background.

Beautiful, bright, natural colour! The dog is really well edited and the blacks look black and whites look white. Looking to the left of the frame into the perfect amount of negative space is excellent.
Jackie Petersen | Jackie Petersen Pet Photography
We love how much purple is in this image perfectly fitting the Colouriffic Challenge brief. The vertical lines are perfectly straight and the little detail of the cats' eyes matching the colour of the fall leaves is wonderful.
Francesca Guagliumi
This red is so bold and the vignetting gives this image a slightly dramatic look and feel. Then the dog's collar is the perfect match too, a lovely detail.
Cindy Van Osch | Paws and Memories Dog Photography
Excellent composition, the vibrant yellow colour harmonises with the chocolate dog and the little curves of the corrugated backdrop mirror the shape of the dog in places that really make for a lovely little detail.
Carol Moorhead
The unconventional use of negative space in this shot really works. The dogs' expression with the head tilt is perfect and the little blue bow tie pulls everything together.
Angela Schneider | Big White Dog Photography
Beautiful vibrant colours, with some lovely texture in the background. The dogs' eyes bring a little added harmony to the image with the blue tones in the background.
